Once you have successfully prepared for and presented your webinar, you may think it is time to sit back and reap the benefits of your hard work; not so fast your work is not quite finished. As with any sales and marketing seminar, the follow-up is one of the most important elements to its success – hosting a webinar is no exception. If you don’t take advantage of the leads generated from your webinar, all the hard work and effort you put into preparation and presentation will be for nothing.

Below you will find 3 tips from Dan Richmond on how to properly follow-up after your webinar:

Send out a thank you email – Personalize your attendees’ webinar experience by sending out a thank you email to all participants. In the email summarize your key points in a bulleted list and include any links to products or services you were promoting, along with additional information and special offers specifically for those who attended. For those who weren’t able to make the live event, send them an email as well. Be sure to provide them with a link to the event recording and any transcripts or slides you wish to make available.

Use your attendee list to send out a post-event survey – In your follow-up email remember to include a post-event survey. As a presenter this will help you get a better understanding of how others benefited from the information presented. Find out what attendees liked or disliked about your presentation, as well as any topics they might be interested in hearing about in the future.

Use your website or company blog as a source of information – At the end of your webinar presentation, give the attendees a link to a website page where they will be able to go and find a recap, event summary, presentation transcript or slides, or a recording to download. This will not only increase traffic to your website, but increase the potential of future sales.

Now that you know how to prepare, present and follow-up with a webinar, what are you waiting for? If you are looking to demonstrate a product or service, conduct company trainings, or increase sales, you now have the know how to get this done.
