Worried that no one will attend the webinar or virtual event that you are organizing? Afraid that the people who registered won’t find the time to sit an hour or two to watch and listen to the speakers or the video presentations? Wondering how can you increase the turnout in your webinar? Below Carlana Charles gives us some tips that she’s learned while organizing virtual events.
Offer a free report or e-book for those who sign-up. This info product should be a preview of what will be discussed in the webinar just like what a trailer is to a movie. If your registrants like what you’ve got in your e-book, there is a huge chance that they will be looking forward to attending your webinar.
Avoid hard sell when emailing registrants. It is a common practice for virtual event organizers to send reminder emails before the event. Don’t be so pushy in those reminder emails because it might turn off those registrants and scratch the webinar off their appointment book. Don’t use bold and capital letters and strong action words in your email. And don’t be spammy! A daily reminder two weeks or a week before the event is too much.
Ask for suggestions from your registrants. When a person signs up for your webinar, you send a confirmation email, right? Your registrant will most likely read that because it contains confirmation of their registration plus access details. Take this unique opportunity to ask your potential attendees for additional topics that can be discussed during the webinar. You can also ask them what their expectations are for the webinar and use it to modify the structure and content of your virtual event.
Gather questions from registrants. One of the most stressful parts of a webinar is the question and answer portion. Ask your participants to send in their questions. You will notice that some have the same questions and can be answered in a single breath. Some questions require more specific and longer answers. If you think that all unique questions cannot be answered during the webinar, you can prepare an FAQ document and give it away as a reward to those who attended the event.
